ID 5805 Robert Pepping Feb. 24, 1920 - Jan. 6, 2015 Resident of San Jose Robert passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on January 6, 2015, in his home in San Jose, Calif. Robert born February 24, 1920, to loving parents Clarence and Helen, was an athlete as a young man, and a sports fan his entire life. Other passions were spending time with his family, playing cards, and horse racing. His uncle was a jockey, and Robert's lifelong dream came true when he was able to own a pacer horse. He proudly served in the U.S. Army, stationed in the Aleutian Islands during WWII. Robert could tell stories for hours about his army experiences. A devoted Catholic, Robert attended daily mass most of his life, often engaging his sons to help during the services. He was very generous to many different charities, and served on the Board of Directors of the Saint Vincent DePaul Society. Professionally, Robert worked for PPG Industries for 38 years, becoming Regional Sales Manager, and was well known throughout the paint industry, where he maintained life-long relationships. He is survived by loving wife, Anne, and four children, Rob, Ted, Bill, and Janell. He was predeceased by son Joe and daughter Yvonne. Robert will be remembered as a loving husband, and a caring father and grandfather. He enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. A funeral Mass will be held 10:30am on Friday, January 16, 2015, at St. Julie Billiart Parish, 366 Saint Julie Drive, San Jose, Calif. Military burial to follow at 2:30pm at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella. |
